Talking

Hey everyone,

I will start off by stating this was about 5% my effort and 95% the effort of my father and brother in law. These are two incredibly skilled and kind geltelmen whom took most of their weekend to help me with the wheel rust issues we are all too farmiliar with. My birthday present this year from them was absolutely amazing, they first researched what paint is used for the MAG wheels (this was not easy in itself as it was discovered that BMW slightly changes the MAG paint color every year a bit). Got a hardner, paint gun, small air compressor, and brought it all to me. Friggin awesome....

My wife also got me a set of new hub caps (the 08 and on ones with no grey outer rim)!!!

Steps:
  • Car mounted on jack stands
  • Wheels removed
  • Breaks dissassembled (main caliper component remained attached
  • Rotors removed
  • Center rotor mounting part (I have no idea what it is really called) sanded/primed
  • Wheel hubs cleaned, sanded, primed, and painted
  • All caliper components cleaned, sanded, primed, and painted (this is where I helped a little...emphasis on the little part)
  • All wheels cleaned, buffed, and waxed (with MAG polish and then with Mguires NXT to avoid dust for a bit)
  • Everything reassembled and PERFECT result!!!
Here is the result (no before pics but here is a post with basically the same before state https://5series.net/forums/index.php?showto...075&hl=rust):
