Second hand parts will work, if they about same age with your car or little younger. All you need is business navi M-ASK, GPS antenna and antenna cable. Installation is simple, coding is not. You have to update PROGMAN to the latest version in order to complete retrofit coding. Search my retrofit business navigation thread for more info.

Hi Vesil,

I've reread your thread many times. Congrats. Business navi M-ASK is that part that comes as a part of CD unit ?

Thanks.

BMW Dealer wants 4hours labour (@ ?136/ph) to do the coding. Reasonable ?

Thanks.

Cd unit is called M-ASK. Business navigation M-ASK will replace your current M-ASK unit. It also have other benefit: twin tuner radio. I also got MP3 capability, because the new M-ASK is a bit younger than my original M-ASK.

4 hours for coding sounds reasonable. Is that fixed price offer? I already had the latest progman version and still the business navigation retrofit coding took full two hours! I do not have experience about progman update. (my car was whole day at dealer for update and cost was covered under warranty). Maybe someone else can tell real experiences.

It means all the software in the entire car is updated, from engine control to bluetooth module. There are more than 20 software modules in the car and the all has to be upgraded simultaneously. Do search for differences, but do not expect anything revolutionary.
