Socket housing is the same. I can say it's probably good.

Thanks John! Unfortunately the guy that I was gonna buy it from jacked the price two-fold after our initial convo, so I bailed. I don't blame him for wanting to get the money he wants for it - just can't stand it when people name one price and then ten minutes later say they want twice as much for it... thanks either way!

I had an 04' pre-nav wired but unfortunately no nav. I bought a brand new 2007 X5 professional screen for $150 took out my old 6" screen and retrofitted the black housing. The metal plug didn't fit as it had an edge of plastic i had to shave off.....but after shaving the little piece of plastic it fit perfect and worked with no issues. However, a problem did come up in programming because the computer did read it as a different part number the programming failed until they took one out of parts and hooked it up to finish the programming them put my screen back in.

if you already have nav, the LCI unit will work fine as a replacement. If you are trying to do the retrofit, it will only work if you go to an indy with an Autologic unit (or that guy doing the new 2010 retrofits on-line.) Like refaie1, I did the retrofit with an ebay monitor...and ended up having to swap it out at coding time because the BMW computer complained about it.
