if you mean the grey one, that is the vent tube. it goes out of the car. you need to connect this to prevent the buildup of hydrogen in the trunk.

the werker battery has the connection for the vent tube.

Hello everyone. I just wanna let you guys know, recently i changed battery on my 04 BMW 530(i did it myself) and went through same things as described in this post above, ACTIVE STEERING is working fine, and after i changed the battery i found out that new battery has to be programmed on cars computer, and i was like: whatever - everything working just fine, and in about one month my iDrive controller started dieing, right now its working only up, down, right, left. After i read this post i think may be thats why my iDrive control has died. But i don't know was it related or no.

Which battery does my 545i have?
How many batteries the E60 has?
Can I get one bigger?
Maybe for Canada and cold places there is an enhanced battery.....

The one for the 545i is second from the bottom which is the 95R. This is the battery made for BMW and Werker. I do not think there is one bigger. The E60 has only one battery.

From part numbers, the E60 has 3 batteries...

My Ride: 2006 525XI, Jet black on Dakota beige. Premium and winter packages. I consider myself a purist and intend to keep my car absolutely stock and shiny. 2008 328I Convertible, Sapphire black on beige interior. Premium package, NAV, iPod adapter. Retired: 2002 325I, Titanium silver on black leather. Premium package. Absolutely stock and proud of it.

Thank you very much for your insightful post. I was debating whether or not I should have the dealer do the work, but thanks to your post, I will see if my independent BMW shop would use this battery instead.

Those posts are are some of the ones I used to get my information. However, they are about 3 years old so the prices mentioned are way off. A lot of people used the Autozone Duralast 49DL and I believe it does meet the specs. Problem is that it is not an exact fit. I prefer not to use wood shims. The Werker is and exact fit for the 545i and that is why I went that route.
