I need help in replacing my burn out dome light. I just want to know how to remove the white plastic covering.

Thanks in advance.

The BMW TIS says you need a special tool. No.

The white cover is just clipped in. Get a credit card or putty knife and put it in the gap between the lens and the headlining. You may even feel the plastic clips. Just gently lever the lens out. You can use a screwdriver, but something with a wide blade will cause less damage. When it pops out, unplug the unit and replace the dead bulb. Push it back to replace.

Method is the same front or rear.

I appreciate your help. At least now I know what part of the dome light covering I need to pry and not destroy the clips.
