Has anyone installed the 'Dash' LEDs as per the pictures below. I'm a total novice and would like some help. I have the self levelling Xenons on a Sept 2004 model. From what I have read you may need to remove the entire light to be able to gain access whilst others use an extended pair of pliers.
pliers or headlight removal, it's up to you and your skill level....IMO, it's easiest to just use the needle nose pliers...and members have installed the bulbs you have pictured..without problems....some are disappointed with the brightness...GL with your install

If i just want to replace the existing bulb is there a low cost part for that, like an h7 bulb or something that goes in that housing? Or is this something you have to buy a whole assembly to replace anyway?
If you have xenon headlights, browse the vendor section..their are few choices out there for AE upgrades....if you have halogen headlights, you are limited to the choices...member pinghuk sells halogen AE upgrades http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=49997

I just installed basically the same product from Brabus. Super simple. I didn't even need tools. Just remove the cap and twist the flash-to-pass light tab and extract it to get it out of the way. Then, insert your thumb through the housing and push anti-clockwise on the existing bulb, while applying a bit of forward pressure. May need to wiggle it a bit, but you'll feel the locking "ears" disengage. Unplug the old bulb and plug in the new one (I didn't need the little cable adaptors in the box). Lower the new bulb assembly and push it forward until it is aligned with the mating plate. Then use the same technique in reverse with your thumb. It may take a couple of tries. Then, reinsert the flash-to pass bulb by twisting into place and put the cap back on. GL.

Attachment 28684Just got my Angel Eyes after being shipped 9 days ago.[/u] thanks to yours truly-USPO! Anyway, wanted to post some pics and say that I'm not impressed after costing $290.00, but it's another added mod that I can say I have. I don't really think they're that bright although it resembles H.I.D. in whiteness not brightness. The simple truth about the install is that the front end of your car doesn't have to come off, and niether do your headlamps It took me 30 minutes to do both sides and that included me taking the pictures The trick is to have the right tools for the job - 2 sets of needle nose pliers, one that is 6 inches and the other 11 inches in length - and electrical tape for attaching to the bulb so that you can grip it better and reduce the scratches.

The first step is to remove the round lid that I already took off by twisting off. Then, your DRL [TWIST OFF] by hand and wrap it up in something so it doesn't get touched by your oily hands - just put it to the side no need to remove it completly.

Then, use either the long or short pliers to twist the bulb using light pressure to the left as shown in the picture and pull it out gently - then disconect it by pulling the harness out with the pliers if you can't by hand.

Next, Wrap your new bulb with electrical tape or any thing that will hold so that you get a good grip on it when you put it back in.
Attachment 28695

Next, reconect the harness then, reinsert new bulb and twist to the right to lock it in place. Be advised that this is the trickiest part about doing this install. You must insert it fully and and make sure you lock it properly by twisting it a little at a time. Be patient on this part!
Attachment 28696

Last, reinsert your DRL by twisting back on, then recap the opening with the round lid and you're done!

For anyone interested in getting there Angel Eyes installed I will do it for free if you make the trip to my house on a weekend. Let me know if anyone is interested I live in Bakersfield, CA. If not, I guess it was just as easy for you to do.

Thanks a lot !

I've just did the installation of the angel eyes following this DIY. I didn't even use the nose pliers. I did it with my hands, and everything in less than 30 minutes!!!!

Cheers,

Not needed for E60s. That's adapter for other cars such as the E90.

thanks^^^

I just installed these angel eye bulbs from ebay , they are not even bright.. they pretty much look stock. My question is this , they turn on and work but for some reason my car is not recognizing the bulbs , when I turn the car on I get right and left parking light malfunction.

Is it possible I need to push them into the housing more?

When i take the round cover off on the back of the headlight , and after removing the high beam bulb , you can look down and see the bulb for the angel eye turned on , that's why I think they might not be pushed all the way in , any thoughts on this?

these are suppose to be 8000k.
