I don't have step-by-step pics but not that hard, on each headlight you'll find round plastic lid for low & high beam, after you open that lid reach along the top inside it and you find the bulb holder (while you doing that what you looking for is also visible from the front (outside) of the headlight... for reference in case you wondering what you trying to grab) then slowly pull the holder by the wire and it'll pop out and all you have to do just pull the bulb and it'll slide out.

I'm using OSRAM halogen bulb and don't think there are any heat issue as I've been using it for couple months w/ night driving more than 30 mins. As far as the reflection in it I don't think we can get rid of that since the halo ring lip seems to be molded into the inside of the reflector side

Good luck!

Switching out the angel eye bulbs isn't hard of you have a child's hand. A normal adult hand requires (for most) to remove the headlight housing to get a better angle to remove the bulb. BTW, I have Xenon headlight, so I don't know if this applies to you. Here are the DIY instructions: http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=22546. You might be able to gleen some useful information. Good luck.
