I'm a bit stuck on retrofitting xenons to my E60.

I can as a last resort buy an ultimate kit from HID's 4U and fit it to the oem halogen housing but I want to go for the oem xenon look.

My plan is to wire the xenon headlight as a halogen and use an aftermarket ballast on the dipped beam feed which eliminates all the warning lights on the dash.

The problem I have come across is on xenon headlights there is only one 10W bulb for the angel eye. On the halogen there are two 5W bulbs wired independantly.

Can I put these two wires together and run the one bulb in the xenon?

As you can see from below I have sketched the way both plugs are. The xenon headlight has two earths (one extra for the ballast).

If I wire an ultimate ballast to the dipped beam feed and earth it either on the chassis or on the current earth plug (brown) do you think I would have any issues?

Thanks for any help as I'm no electrical wizard

I've tried just plugging the xenon headlight in with no ballast (just in case) and the rest of the headlight worked fine

putting the two wires together should be fine. Or you could probably put one in a connector block and wrap it in insulation tape, but remove the fuse at the fuse box if you do this. Im not too familar with car fuse sizes but going from 5w to 10w is so miniscule it doesnt really make a difference on the cable or fuse. good luck.
