Hello,
This might have been dicussed many times earlier, but after a few searches without result I try with a new topic.
On my 2005 525D I (unfortunately) have halogen headlights... I am looking onto retrofitting some xenons. Then I of course need some headlights and are looking for these mainly on ebay.
I have noticed there are quiite a few pairs beeing sold in the US, also non adaptives as I need. Problem is though, I hate the amber corners and would like to have these white as on euro cars.
So question is... Is there a way (at all) to remove this amber film, or glass, from these head lights? Anyone have tried this?
A friend of mine did the similar thing for a X5. Think he used a heater to open up the glass it self. But this was a 2001, and he claims they are using another type of glue today making this impossible.
Any feedback would be highly appreciated
Best regards

I have amber 'eyebrows' and it's a Euro car.
Personally I like the contrast with the Amber and Black.
Makes the car look a little more menacing.

Hello,
Orange eyebrows are OK (though I have seen a "crazy DIY for having the orange LEDs beeing replaced by white ones.... niiice), but I was thinking about the amber on us-cars on the side with the blinkers. If you understand what I am trying to say
That part I would prefer to be white as on euro cars.

I took the amber reflectors out of my headlights. I have done it on other cars in the past without a problem but that was not the case with these. the stuff BMW uses to seal the two headlight pieces together is like cement and is did not get soft with heat. The black plastic housing cracks really easy when pressure is applied and im not the most paitent person, but now it looks way better and it was free to do.
Huh, interesting. When I had opened up my housing, the amber part looks like it was somehow melded with the housing. So how did you actually get it off if heat didn't do it?
And can you post larger up-close pics?
