i would like to ask if anyone knows if it is possible to upgrade the standard airco unit to advanced

does anyone have experience with upgrading this? is it possible at all with the extra functions on the advanced? does the car need reprogramming? etc?

I think you might be able to get the electronics to work, but the dual climate control, auto recirculating and front defrost may not work. Worth a shot, but I would leave it be, personally.

EDIT: It looks like the dash area above the glovebox has no cup-holders, I like that - these things are a joke and my car would be better off without them.

Many differences for standard A/C and A/C "high", especially fro pre-LCI cars.

The number of air valves is different, the control of them is completely different (L+R seperated for the "high" version, not only temp control but also valve control), "high" has the auto recirculation sensor (xAUC) and solar sensor etc etc.

Of course it can be done, but it will take a LOT of time and money to do the upgrade.
