Hello All
New on here so go easy on me Have a 525d v interested in speed camera on my professional Nav soon to be 2007-2.
If i understand correctly the following limitations still apply (in order of importance)
1) No audible warning approaching said device.
2) Dependent on software update have to turn speed camera icons on each engine start
3) All speed camera types have the same icon on screen
4) Need to burn new disk each time to update
So if 1) is still not solved/unsolveable could people report how easy it is to steam past a camera unnoticed. I would imagine quite easily!?
I currently have a Road Angel with plenty of subscription but am reluctant to mess the clean top of dash up, and increase my chances of being broken into. This unit works very well, but i am hoping for an integrated approach.
The best i can come up with is to mount the Road Angel out of sight, wire the sound to the vehicle's somehow???!! and use a combination of both devices. So 2 things to update.. .
Can anybody else shed any light on a better solution than the above.
Out of interest Road Angel are about to release an auto updating device with something similar to a sim card in it. The technology is in this car to do this. Mobile phone interface where specified, sat nav system - It must be possible to interface the two of them. Come on BMW are you missing a trick?? This could and should be on a car costing this sort of money at least as an option.
All suggestions welcome

Well anybody got any info for me then?
I am still concluding Road Angel is the easiest way out, esp as my camera icons turn off every ignition offand are really quite cumbersome to re-enable.. Anyone then?

For those of you with the new 2008-2 Professional DVD, I've just added some information regarding this version up at www.bmwnavaddpoi.co.uk
Very briefly, the folder structure has changed a bit and it is now a Dual Layer DVD.

Hi - I have a 525 from February 08, and the 2008-1 dvd with it. I followed the instructions for the 2007-02 DVD --
I took the old dvd out, let my car "rest" an hour, and insterted the new "pached" DVD. All seem to go fine, after I chose my route the display turns blank and it seems asif the nav/idrive computer reboots (no music etc). This repeats over and over again, yet stops the moment I insert the original DVD
When I burned the disk I did not tick the joliet box. I have already created two discs with both the same results
Any suggestions from other members would be highly appreciated
Syd

Hi,
Thanks for the tutorial, but please, I need HELPPP!!!
I'm trying to add new GROUPS for:
GROUP - Petrol Stations - Individual 90001
POI's:
TPD-CAT 90101 N Ampol Service Stations
TPD-CAT 90102 N BP Service Stations
TPD-CAT 90103 N Caltex Service Stations
TPD-CAT 90104 N Mobil Service Stations
TPD-CAT 90105 N Shell Service Stations
I've created these entries in the Australian v14 BMW Professional Navigation DVD ENG.LSC file.
ENG.txt - make sure you rename it ENG.rar, it won't accept a .rar or .zip file upload.
I've created the .idx and .url using perl, created the SF_90101.htm - SF_90105.htm and ST_90101.htm - ST_90105.htm, added the ICON files, but when I access the CAR group where the Petrol Stations - Individual is located.
I've looked at the files etc., everything looks OK but the the CCC is very unstable and reboots when Navigation is selected even though it may display a map. I'm getting concerned about the reboots, after a couple, the screen didn't want to light up for quite awhile.
Is there anything obvious that I've overlooked, I want a add a stack of POI's and groups, but just having to sort through what the problem is with just the one group?
What's really annoying me, is I used the same process to add POI's including Groups to my OZ v12 Pro Nav disc.
Greatly appreciate any assistance.

My Ride: E61 most options
The 2009-1 NAVDVD europe is available.
Has the same structure as the 2008-2 as far as i can see.
Looks like adding speedcams works in a similar way as the 2008-2 (haven't tried it though).
Grtz,

I have just tried it and come across one change - I found that my icons were not appearing correctly. Instead of my usual camer gif, there was a default blue circle with a dot in the middle.
Having had a look around - it seems like the size of the gif files in the ICONS/E60 folder has changed to be 28x28 pixels.
