If you run the cygwin setup again, when you have the window open, it shows defaults in the view window, scroll down and you will see perl, click and tick all boxes.

I have a feeling this will not work with the 3 series, as thats what I have and I have no area for POI.

I hope I am wrong but I think it's a no go.

Hi Mathmos,

I have almost cracked it.
On inserting the revised disk, new destination, information, travel, I see speed cameras.

The problem, on selecting speed cameras it shows 4 golf courses within 10 miles of me and each one has a camera icon.

I am not sure where I have gone wrong, I seem to have followed the instruction.

Any ideas please.

Hmmmm,

Found a few errors in my st_9000 and sf_9000

Burning another disk, see how this one goes.

Also ActivePerl is also an option but will require a few script changes. Infact Mathmos why don't you update the script with the changes for ActivePerl because then people will be able to use any version of Perl to perform this task.
Will do.

Many thanks to mathmos for all is help on getting me going in the right direction.

Who would think just one little error, 1 instead of l in Vedit would cock everything up.

Great work and a top man.

I have updated the How To, which you can find here at http://www.zen102337.zen.co.uk/nav/addingpoi.htm to hopefully make things clearer and easier to understand.

I have also added instructions on just using file copies and Nero Burning Rom if you don't want to get involved in using ISO images.

There must be a way to display the Speed Cameras without having to choose the Category from the Information menu. The reason I'm sure if that I sometimes see icons for hotels etc on the navigation screen without having chosen it. Give me some time I'm sure I'll crack this one as well.

Mathmos,

Would I be correct in saying that with any future downloads of the speedcamera file that once converted using perl, it would be just a case of replacing the existing url and idx files with the new ones, everything else would stay the same.

Regards, Steve.
