After a few months of research and lot of questions fired towards Bruce. I've finally completed it!

I've got the latest build of the ACM unit and USB kit. The manual I was working from is the 2009 version which is a little different to the others on this forum.

This mod in terms of electrical side is pretty easy to do, but it requires taking the centre dash out and around the Idrive controller. Infact if you can take the interior part you can do this mod without too much trouble.

This my first ever mod (I've never even considered modding before this) - and didn't have any knowledge of BMW internal workings before this.

In my opinion, the hardest part was putting the area around the glove box back together since I've got ipod unit, ACM, USB, CAN all stuffed up in that area.

Total time for this mod 8 hours - Although given that I know how to take my car apart, I would say 2-3 hours all in all.

The first time I plugged everything up - the picture on the screen wasn't sitting right - and this was due to the pin 2 on the branch A1 being connected. Also my Idrive didn't have any force feedback. After looking over everything i was 100% sure that it was all connected right, but then someone else had the same problem as me on this forum which was due to a disconnected pin. In my case the pin was in, but I must have broken the pin head and thus causing an issue.

My car has Nav Pro and I've got AUX already installed.

The manuals for installing the unit aren't clear and for anyone who has the same issues:

Fuse slot 79 - must hold fuse larger than 7.5a
Make sure that in A15 their is a grey cable in pin 12 - if not move from pin 25 to pin 12
Make sure A15 pin 1 is connected.
Make sure that A1 grey cable from pin 1 is connected
Make sure that A1 pin 2 is disconnected

I'm not going to write any instructions, since its all in the manual and things may change (as they have when you compare the 2006 manuals to the 2009), but any questions just let me know and I'll be able to tell you.

--- On a side note I did order DVB-T unit for this, but what i didnt know is that you need the TV function already to upgrade to DVB-T (so now its for sale if anyone is interested)

On Tuesday Wilson from the forums is coming to London to fit my Velocity unit - so I'll be posting more pictures of the fitting of that.
And I'm going to purchasing RPI Scoops from Trinity - hopefully that will arrive by the next weekend.
Finally BMC filters from the UK.

Now I just need to find someone to fit/paint my spoiler and I'm done (any recommendations around Southwest London?)

Now for the pictures:

Thanks.

Nice work. How much did all the parts cost from your dealer, and can you list the part numbers of the kits you bought please ??

Cheers

All in all I paid 1300 Euros - this is only because I bought a DVB-T for 540 Euros as well - stupidly unknowing that I needed to have the original TV function to work it!

So 760 Euros for the other parts including shipping and PayPal fees.

The part numbers are as follows:

ACM: 65 500 441 372 (450 Euro's)
USB: 65 500 433 281 (265 Euro's)

If you can take your car a part, you can do this installed without any real issues.

Best regards,
