We recently acquired a 2006 E61 530xi Sports Wagon with 40K miles. The car is fitted with the lovely N52B30 3.0L engine and a GS6X-37BZ six-speed manual transmission, and was built in September, 2005, making it six years old.
Some service work was recently done (and/or CBS items reset), including the engine- and cabin air filters. However, I?m not a big believer in ?lifetime fluids?, especially once a car?s powertrain warranty has expired. Accordingly, I think a front-to-back D&F of fluids and other filters is in order.
Here?s what I have in mind:
I believe this should do it. Comments, corrections, and/or suggestions are welcome, especially w/r/t the plan for the MT fluid change. Unless there's a compelling reason to do so, I'm really not interested in buying a 5 liter jug of LT3 to do a 1.6 liter job.
Thanks!

Here?s what I have in mind:
Coolant: BMW coolant (part# 82 14 1 467 704) mixed down to 50:50 (~10 liters total)
Front Diff: Red Line 75W90 synthetic gear oil (0.6 liter)
Engine Oil: 0W-30 German Castrol oil (6.9 qts) plus a new HU 816 filter
Brake and clutch fluid: DOT 4 as required
Manual Transmission: Redline D6 ATF (Per Red Line recommendation; 1.6 liters) instead of BMW MTF-LT3
Transfer Case: BMW specific transfer case fluid (part# 83 22 0 397 244, 0.52 liter)
Rear Diff: Red Line 75W90 synthetic gear oil (1.0 liter)
Misc replacement plugs, washers, and/or O-rings as required
While we?re at it, I?ll also replace the stock clutch delay valve (CDV) with a modified CDV-002 from Zeckhausen. My older son is a Porsche and BMW mechanic, and one of us will assist the other in doing the work. Front Diff: Red Line 75W90 synthetic gear oil (0.6 liter)
