Any tips, advice and/or references to repair a rear window sun screen not retracting. Seems to have power going to it as I hear it when pushing the button.

Are the sliders clean of any blocking materials?

Thanks for the reply! No, there is nothing obstructing the retracting screen rods. Used it daily for a few weeks and seems the motor is bad now? Last time I tried it I was able to hear the switch work, but no movement in the rear window/screen.

This is my first BMW, but I was in a bad accident this past February and just getting back on my feet. I am handy with repairs and confident I could perform most DIY tasks I have seen listed on this forum.

If anyone knows how to access the motor compartment and/or troubleshooting tricks? It would be greatly appreciated!

I wish I would have found these replacement sliders when mine broke. I made a set out a aluminum using one of the old ones as a guide. I painted them black and have been working fine ever since. These are a little pricey but looks to be a perfect replacement and a little faster to install.

My sliders are not damaged nor is there anything obstructing the track. I did not see a fuse listed for the rear sun screen and it does not look like the motor is anywhere near the screen, but probable in the trunk somewhere.

If you have had a similar issue or know where the power source is located... please forward this information. Thanks!
