Hi I wonder if you can help me... I have just recently purchased a 530d M Sport, It has the standard hifi upgrade so I have the small harman amp in the trunk.
I wanted to have bass in the trunk so I followed your diagram and set up my system without combining the high level inputs. Please see the attached diagram. I am not receiving the kidney punch bass, is this because the sub out from the head unit has been filtered? It's doing my head in! When I tried to put the rear speaker outputs into the amp I was expecting the punch bass there but I got no bass at all.

Also want to Thank png1966 for posting the diagrams! Great help

I would like to thank you for the diagram.

My system is Logic 7.

But a foolish question, where is the AMP that drives the other speakers in the system?

Logic 7 Wiring Diagram

Just purchased a used 2004 545i have questions on what Sub to use:

SWS
or
Rainbow

My steps would be:
1. Replace old subwoofer amp: Test
2. Replace subwoofers: Test
3. Replace other 11 speakers amp: Test
4. Replace other 11 speakers.

The mystery where is the other AMP
AND:
How are the speakers run, that is, which sets are in parallel.

I guess you could do this:
Front/Rears/Center: 5 Channel Amp
Subs/Rear Deck: 4 Channel Amp

Thanks in Advance

In the 525i system, the front left and right channel speakers were powered by the original head unit. Since the two underseat subs and new trunk sub (powered by the Alpine) and rear deck speakers (powered by the JL) were now powered by other amps, the head unit had enough to do a reasonable job. I had to play with the gain controls on the Alpine and JL to reach something near level with the headunit output.

I now have a 550i with the 13 driver system Logic7 system (which I have extended to 17 drivers). In that system, only the rear door speakers are driven by the Logic7 amp. I have an Alpine PDX-500 driving the rear decks, underseat subs and trunk sub - and a 4-channel JL driving the center channel and front left/right channels.
