Just one day after a good car wash, my wheels are covered with lots of brake dust already... I have to give this a try.

i cant get the dust of my wheels now almost seems baked in , any ideas
Better yet, have them "detail" them when it goes in for service; they undoubtedly have professional cleaning products (for their used cars) that can make it happen fast and easy.

Great info, thanks for sharing, brake dust is a nasty problem and any assistance is greatly appreciated
Prestone just came out with a new product called Wheel Cleaner with Break Dust Repellent. 30 oz spray bottle at Wal-mart about $4. Cleaned wheels with Castrol Purple cleaner, really cuts the dust, black comes off with a little brushing and rinse. Then applied Prestone cleaner/repellent today, will see how it does.

I'd go to your dealer and get a recommendation; you don't want to put anything on there that will etch the paint or surface.

Thanks Ray, but I purchased this "RIM ICE" product did come from an authorized BMW dealer at their Parts dept, (Hank Aaron BMW, Union City GA), and it is what they recommend for BMW owners. Like you I would be very careful using anything that does not come through an authorized BMW dealer on our fine Bimmer's.

Anyone ever try applying clear bra to rims?

HAHHA that would be worse... clear bra's "static" will attract brake dust like a moth to a flame!
I rather take my rims to the local landromat and put it thru the heavy duty washers they have there.

Anyone know if any dealerships have Rim Ice around L.A area? I'll be interested in tryin it out. My X5 has the worst brake dust problem i'll probably try it on X5 first cause i'm still waiting for my 5.
