My Ride: 2005 530i JETBLACK/BLACK DAKOTA, COLD WEATHER PKG, PREMIUM PKG, ADAPTIVE XENON HEADLIGHTS, AUTO TRANSMISSION WITH 6 SPEED STEPTRONIC, BLUETOOTH SETUP,SAT SETUP AND WIFE AS CO-PILOT

parents planned a religious trip to france and many other places.... they had asked me to take them to the lax airport...and so i said yes... asked my mother inlaw to barrow her toyota truck to transport the luggage and my family..... well long story short.... i wasnt able to get the truck so i tried to fit it into my car.... so here we go... 3 large luggage bags for check in.. two overhead carry on bags one backpack and my duster and detailer spray...all in my trunk and then 3 passengers and me the driver....as i drove up to the white unloading zone...of course getting attention for the black nicely waxed e60.... it was funny to see the reaction of people looking at me unload my trunk and then was approached and was told....." man.... thats a huge trunk...cant believe you fit all that...".. i just smiled and said thanx... anyways i just had to tell my friends ...eric d

I can say from experience that the E60 trunk holds more stuff than an M-B S-class...

Well, gain something, lose something. My kids always complained about the footrooms of the backseats. They literaly can not move their feet around. I just told them this car is mainly for daddy's pleasure....

the trunk can swallow four golf bags. not too many cars in this size can do that

e61 takes 4 bags and 4 trolleys, shoes & everything!

This is with rear net up of course.

I believe Bangle is due some credit for all of that trunk space. The deck lid design has drawn a lot of criticism, but it sure adds to the space and especially is helpful in loading large packages.
