Having spent 8 hours polishing my E60 with a DA polisher last weekend, a coat of JetSeal 109 and Meguiars liquid carnuba wax later & I am mega disappointed!
I think it is the wax that is letting me down, and I am on the hunt for a good wax for Deep Sea Blue Metallic paint.
I used the Megs on my previous car - a deep red Alfa - and it seemed to transform the paint to a liquid finish... it just isn't happening on the E60
I have tried Collinite on the car before, and felt the finish was average.
I want a deep liquid gloss, and don't mind if it doesn't last forever (2-3 months is OK).
Has anyone any suggestions other than Swissvax?
Thanks,
ArtC

Hi artc,
Do you mean the Meg step 3 liquid wax? If so, i can see why you're disappointed with the result, they won't last long and the beading is the worst i've ever seen before.
Bought myself a tub of Swissvax Best of show while ago and i am highly impressed, over any wax that i used before! It gives very deep wet finish and seems last a good 3-4 months (Still bead very well). ?120 price tag might sounds expensive but for personal use, it should last you couple of years.
Alternatively i am very happy with my recent purchase of the Raceglaze 55 wax, as the name suggested, it contains 55% carnauba in the wax (Higher nuba rate doesn't mean it is better tho, i have to say), it gives a very good mixture of wetness and reflection to the paint and it looks brilliantly for the money that i've paid. I remembered there is a guy in the detailing forum done a longevity test between 55 wax among other high-end waxes like Zym0l, Swissvax, and seems 55 wax out perform the others.
If you don't want spend much money on wax, i would rekon clearkote or Zaino as your LSP. Both available at www.cleanyourcar.co.uk
Best of show: http://www.swissvax.co.uk/products/wax-products.asp
55 Wax: http://www.raceglaze.co.uk/signature-wax.html
BTW, artc, any pics of your hard working?
People love to see pictures in here

When you used the Swizzvax, did you also use their paint cleaner fluid beforehand?

Well, I'll have to wait for a dry day to wash it again before I post photos... but I will.
