Hi

Polised the car with Rejex yesterday, what do you think? Must says its really easy to use and IMHO looks better than the AutoGlym I usually use.

I use both too.

I do stick with the recommended minimum 20C Rejex curing teperature though so that kinda limits me to applications in spring and autumn.

I was not aware that it had to cure at 20 deg C.......it just says for 12 hours out of the elements, it also says on the bottle not to apply at over 85F (just over 29 deg C) or in direct sun light. I am missing some instructions.

Looks like that's me remembering the instructions entirely incorrectly.

Thank you for pointing that out. Now where did I put that bottle of Rejex?

I'm happy with Rejex on light color cars. I still prefer carnauba for darker colors.

Is Carnauba wax "easy" to apply and finish by hand? Just curious since I may choose it as an option in spring.

Yes, it is easy to apply, but not as easy as RejeX nor nearly as durable. The longevity of RejeX has always amazed me. There are many black car RexjeX advocates in this forum.

The trick to using true Carnauba paste is to apply it VERY thin, and wipe off immediately. Don't allow it to dry to a haze. And apply several coats.... with time in between to let the wax cure. Wax must absolutely be done in the shade, with cool metal. Pay particular attention to the front hood. The car needs to sit parked for a couple of hours before you try waxing the front hood. The engine compartment tends to heat up the hood, which makes the wax melt... and hard to wipe off.

If you put too much wax on, it will also make it hard to wipe clean. Your towel will get saturated with excess wax, and it will start to act like your applicator pad.

Also.... it is very important to use the right kind of towel to remove the wax. The best is to use a diaper cloth. Do not use microfiber towels. Microfibers actually strip away too much wax. And do not press down hard when wiping, as this will leave swirls.

Using carnauba takes some practice and care, but the results are worth it. It protects very well, and it is easy to tell when the time is right to re-apply. Basically, when water stops beading up, you know it's time.

The first coat is the hardest to apply/remove. But each additional coat is very quick and easy.
