This stuff serves only one purpose: it lines your dealer's pockets with gold.? New car finishes are extremely durable and require only a little bit of care and common sense.? If you avoid damaging the finish when you wash the car, and keep it reasonably clean, it should look good for many years.? Leather seating should be cleaned with mild cleaners and need little or no other attention.? Reputable dealers do not peddle the crap your dealer is trying to sell to you.? By the way, did they offer you rustproof undercoating?

I agree in what you are saying except for the leather part. You should put on a GOOD leather condition every 4 to 6 months to keep the leather soft and from drying out due the hot and cold weather condition.

say this to any dealer who says you need a "High Gloss Protective Coating" on your paint

"If the quality of the paintwork on this car is so bad that it needs a protective coating i'm not sure I want to buy it"

The paint stuff is total b.s. Don't get it.
However, some of the leather stuff is good, although it doesn't cost anywhere near what the dealer charges. The one good thing about the leather stuff is that it usually comes with some sort of warranty, and if you get any scratches, rips, burns, etc... they will come out and repair it free of charge. So, if you are tough on your interior, it may be worth it. Some plans are just a bottle of conditioner that they charge the dealer $8 for and they charge the customer $600 for. That is a TOTAL waste of money. Some plans actually do have a pretty neat leather sealant protectant that makes the leather more resiliant & "rubbery" (a really bad word, but I can't think of a better one) & makes the leather not scratch so easily. Whatever you do, talk them down on price.

As most dealers do, mine is "suggesting" an aftermarket company to put on a High Gloss Protective Coating on the paint and Leather Protection on the inside ...

I have always thought this is was waste of money ... your feedback is needed!? Thanks in advance

this is as bad as the dealer charges you x amount of dollars for bluetooth activation for a brand spanking new my05 car . so don't get it.

DON'T LET ANYONE TOUCH YOUR PAINTWORK!!!!!!!

I agreed to this and paid for it like a total idiot.

My car's paintwork was destroyed only 3 days after I took delivery. It has been back about 7 times and they have been unable to return the car's paintwork to it's original quality.

I am now in touch with BMW Customer services. When they saw what happened to my car they agreed that what has happened to me is "totally unacceptable".

I WISH I HAD DONE WHAT YOU ARE DOING NOW, WHICH IS ASKING FOR ADVICE!!!!!

My new car experience was ruined by this profit grabbing technique!
