Test complete! Bird shit ate right through my Rejex today! My car sat out at work for about 10 hours today in the sun, and when I finally got home to wipe off a silver dollar sized bird terd, it left a nice acid etched mark. Nothing I did worked to remove it like claying or polish, but nicke60gre left a prior post which suggested leaving the car outside in the sun for a few hours and it will "disappear." This may work because I had blemishes in my front bumper, all kinds of pits from small dust, etc. It was totally bumpy! It's a few months later now, and the front bumper is now perfectly smooth again. I am guessing the heat from the sun must've done something. If that doesn't work, I'll have to try some of the suggestions on here. I am disappointed in the Rejex, though...ate through it like it was nothing!
Update: I left the car out in the sun today to heat up the paint as suggested by Nicke60gre (not under any trees), and wouldn't you know it?!....The acid-etched mark from the bird crap VANISHED! I guess the BMW paint/clearcoat is so soft that even the sun has a way of "remodeling" itself back to its original state. It's like it magically healed itself..I have Christine on my hands! I am glad I tried that before going out and purchasing all kinds of new chemicals, cleaners and orbital buffers. The sun take-ith away and give-ith back.....

Thanks, Nick!

I wonder if they're using something similar to the self-healing paint that Nissan developed a few years ago?

It is an interesting concept, but I am a believer, considering I've had multiple stains, bumps, marks and blemishes "heal up" and disappear after some time in the sun.

Like I said prior, my entire front bumper was pock-marked a while back, and now it's smooth as glass again. Maybe when I was going 130 mph last month, the wind smoothed out all the blemishes!

Um.....ok, so I was Rejex'ing my hood today and noticed that the bird dump stain is NOT gone! I must've been looking in the wrong spot. It's still there, so leaving it out in the sun did zilch. Now I have to figure out what to do to get rid of the acid etching...
