How to remove brake dust spots on Rim.

Here's the before and after pictures as promised. The tarminator stuff did seem to work although you sure as hell have to scrape pretty good to get rid of those spots. They're like burnt on tar and brake dust spots, very tough to remove. I used the cap of the can to scrape which worked well .. it did take probably a half hour just to clean that one rim. Fortunately it was the only rim like that. The other 3 were all OK with minor spots. One rim had a huge blob which I followed my cap scraping thing and scratched up the inside of the rim there so becareful not to scrape too hard!

Why do you care if there are brake dust spots on the inside of the rims?? Can't see it and it won't hurt anything.? Just curious is all!

Actually you can see it.... especially with the "open" design of the style 124 wheel
The wheels look SO much better if they are clean on the inside too.

Ya, add to that.. I had winter wheels on my car so the 124 wheels where off which let me easily clean them off. I would never take off the rims just to clean the inside or anything crazy like that.

I would use p21s gel wheel cleaner & a soft toothbrush. Let the cleaner sit on it a bit & start scrubbing. If this doesnt work try a hand polish this should work & leave a bit of a gleam in your rims.

Pennatta I think your talking about P21S, is it green? If so that has always been a weak, and gentle cleaner. I would move to something more aggressive, they are generaly cheaper.
