My is almost a year old with 12.5k miles. I have always washed my car and used a wheel cleaner. Recently switched to the PS1(or os it PS2) gel because you can leave it on longer. But I can't get the spots that seemed to be glued to the rim off. Any suggestions?

Try Never Dull http://www.nevrdull.com/

I use it for spots on my wheels and exhaust.

Try some Stoner "Tarminator" or some type of Clay product for removal of surface contaminants

Try a good car wax first. It may be enough to get the job done.

Thanks, will try less agressive stuff first then move up.

I have the same problem with hard to remove spots on the inside of the rims. I don't even know what the dirt is. No one can see those spots but I know they're there and they'll keep building up over time so I'd like to remove them, atleast a majority of them somehow. Since I'm putting the spring tires back on in the next week or so it'll be a good time to do so. I'll try the tarminator stuff which I found for 6 bucks at the URL below:

Lomag, Let me know how it works. You can easily see my spots, they are black and obviously brake dust. My car is usually clean and I always use a wheel cleaner. I do drive pretty fast and am hard on the brakes. But my car is only a year old so I need to find a way to keep them clean.

Try using Clay Magic--works great. Also is great for getting a super smooth finish before waxing the paint. I clay every 6 months (use a separate bar for the wheels!).

Then apply some Rejex--it will minimize the amount of brake dust that sticks to the wheels.

Another suggestion is to use autoglym super resin polish applied with a microfibre cloth .The solvent in the polish is great for tar spots and good on brake dust/spots also as above adding the polish also cuts down on future cleaning

Bill.

dunno if this is obvious to everyone...if you use a claybar to do your wheels, DO NOT then use it on your cars paint. brake dust is a killer. better to just throw it out or use it ONLY for wheels in the future.
