Chrome lips are actually pretty scratch resistant. I use a mini California Duster to dust off brake dusts everyday and had not issues with my previous wheels that had chrome lips. Polished or painted lips on the hand are more easily scratched.

My Ride: I have an 05 545i. It's a manual with a few options. This is my first BMW but I don't know how I'll ever be able to switch to something else.

Use a microfiber cloth and dedicated chrome polish. Buff off to a shine.
