Does anyone know how to get the hairline scratches out of the finish? The sapphire black really makes them clear.

I was told I could use BMW polish.

good quality polish, a bit of hard work, followed by a wax should get it back to showroom condition - best if know are either Zymol or Zaino.

don't know how you got the scratches but steer clear of auto washes if you want to avoid them!

Aren't those small clear coat scratches impossible to avoid?

Keeping the car clean from dust and sand would probably help - in combination with a few polishes now and then.

I have found a product called LIQUID GLOSS works well. Found usually in car washes.

I dont care what the Owner's Guide indicates, do not take the car to an Automatic car wash. Not with something as dark as Black Sapphire.

Black Sapphire really is amazing when it's clean - especially with the 124 wheels , but it's so easily marked. On a separate threat ISUK mentioned Megiaurs products. I ordered some recently - and am totally convinced they are better that autoglym or mer.

I recommend the wash mitt and micro fibre drying towel in particular.

This is the only reason I won't ever buy a black car for everyday use. Looks great when clean but way too much effort is needed to keep it that way!
