Hi guys,

Does anyone has the same problem using the FLEX XC3401 DA polisher? It was only my second polishing session with the FLEX polisher when white smoke and dust start to spur from the backing plate before the polisher comes to a complete jam. I dismantle the backing plate and find out the part of the backing plate is partially melted/burnt. Does anyone know what cause it?

I know the original batch of Flex DA had backing plates that separated, but I think they were red in color and Flex offered to replace them.
Not sure what happened to yours but it would not hurt to call Flex customer help.

My unit is build on Jan 2008, I guess mine should be the lastest version. Unfortunately, I mail ordered my unit from autogeek.net and there is no Flex representative in my country. But, I have emailed autogeek and hopefully they can send me a replacement backing plate.
