Well guys my worst nightmare confirmed. I've brought my car in 3 times whithin the last year to get detailed. My finish was almost completely covered with haze marks.....and a few swirls. The first two times I used local detailers that would wash, clay and then polish the car. Their methods would only hide the haze/swirl marks for a couple of weeks. They each charged me $150. Needless to say I was VERY unhappy.
Then here on the forum I heard about Detailing Dynamics. I was told they were the best in the business, and they weren't cheap. I met with Matt, one of the owners, to get a price. He quoted me $450 for a 4 step procedure, which was quite steep, but he promised to get rid of the haze/swirls from my car. He wouldn't just hide them, he would permanently remove them. I dropped off my car 2 weeks ago and couldn't wait to see the results. I picked it up the following morning and I must say the car looked great. Finish was silky smoothe. Shiny with a wet look. I was extremely pleased.
Heres where the bad news starts. I washed my car a couple of days ago. I used clean mits with a clean bucket and mild liquid soap for cars. I dried it using a NEW Chamois. When I was done at first I was extremely pleased. My car was in the shade though. The following morning I pulled my car out of the garage into the sun.....and low and behold.....I see the haziness starting to appear again!!!!
Needless to say i'm extremely dissapointed. Apparently whatever he did was only a temporary fix. Where does that leave me??? I'm pissed. Can anyone explain to me what is going on???
Thanks and Happy Memorial day to all!

I'll call them and explain some of your dis-satisfaction.
They'll probably offer you to polish it back and top with a coat of wax, since I am not sure how hazy your car right now (I can't say washing/drying may introduce haze).
Did anybody recommend this place to you?
In service business I always check with my good friends for recommendation just to avoid any headache, good luck.

I did contact them and they did offer to fix the problem. My concern is that they were just filling in the haze/swirls...which is just a temporary fix. I was hoping to get them removed permanently.....I'll keep you posted on how it goes. Thanks

I was wondering if the problem might be with your water supply or your water hose. I washed my car at a friend's house once and it seemed to leave a film on the car. She said garden hose was very old and the outdoor valve was not connected to her was softener. I later washed my car at home and that solved the problem.
You mentioned the other detail jobs looked good for a couple of weeks. Did you notice the problem after you washed you car?
Another possibility might be that some contaminants might be getting on your car where you drive or park regularly.
I would think (and certainly hope) that a $450 detail job would give you excellent results.

please confirm the exact brand of everything you used to wash your car. Most Chamois will will cause hazing and swirling. I recommend swapping this to a microfiber towel for drying ASAP. Also, use a two bucket wash method with grid gaurds and rinse your Mit after every panel. Please confirm the follow (including brand):

what type of mit?
type of soap?
type of drying instrument?

Also, as someone mentioned early... are you using a water filter on your hose system? If not, do you have hard water?

As you may know there are MANY things that cause this

Hard to think they would do a substandard job. They've been around for a very long time and no doubt, are by FAR the best in the business. Surely they'll correct the problem. They are gentlemen as well as masters in their craft. No worries.

I used Meguiars NXT Generation liquid soap. I did use a wash mit, not sure of brand though. As I stated earlier I washed the car myself. I rinsed the car thouroughly before putting a mit to it. I can assure you I have washed a car before and am familiar with proper procedure. I did use a NEW chamois to dry the car. I wanted to use a microfiber towel but was worried about removing polish and wax with it.
I did contact the owner Matt, at Detailing Dynamics and he told me to stop by so he could take care of it 4 me. We'll soon see.

Here's the latest. Matt contacted me and insisted that I bring the car in so he can take care of the problem(swirl marks). I did exactly that and my car looks great, even after washing it!! He claimed that the problem was with the polish he was using....according to him he got a bad batch of product. Bottom line he was a gentleman and did take care of the problem.
