Just wondering if the car is already waxed when you get it from the dealer. Otherwise, im gonna get the car home quickly and wax it before i do any serious driving

Good plan. They claim to have it waxed, but it is more like that Griott's Speed Shine which is OK for a quick shine, but not much protection, if any.

When I was at the BMW factory on a tour last May I asked about waxing a new car. The Representative said you should wait 6 months after taking delivery since the paint is so new. Now I am in a quandry

The rep probably knows something and I used to subscibe to the green-paint theory. However, I have been waxing soon after delivery wo mishap for my last several vehicles.

Hmm... i get the impression that the car would take more damage from going without wax for 6 months vs. waxing it prematurely... what do you guys think?

I waxed it two days after the delivery.. The dealer did a lousy job on it leaving white marks on the car everywhere.. Now it is perfect!

I supect the car was polished but no protection. Two reasons I say this; bird poop etched the paint before I waxed it and the sales rep said to wax it any time I wished. Theimplication was it needed a good wax.
