My Ride: "Angel I's" 2005 525i Debadged, Remote Homelink, Full Burl Package, Cold Weather PKG, Premium Sound PKG, BMW Wheel Stems, Biege Rubba Matz, EURO Tag, Dual Zone Vents, Automatic Car Ventilation, Rescue Kit. Due up: Aux Input, TINT, and K&N Filter and some Zaino LOVE for my Angel.
Yep I agree, you're gonna get the swirlies. I bought some SCRATCH X or something like that to take them away on the Porsche. It did a fair job, but not GREAT as it advertised. X10, removed those "finger nail marks in the well of the door handle on my sisters White Acura Legend..which used to be my hooptie, until her Minivan by Chrysler broke down....again. The problem is, it's no longer on the market, that's why I mentioned the Zaino. Suppose to be a 2 step process with repeated apps sporatically until you get the shine and swirlies out. Check it out and see how it goes. It's a little pricey, but for the most part, the pics and testimonials on the site gives great reviews. Used by the Vette people alot too, and I think the handwash guy who charges 5K a wash!!!

I take my to a company called Cars and they hand wash, steam the carpets, get light sratchs out and give it 3 layer poslish. all this takes about 2 to 3 hrs with 3 people.
too this cost $90 a shot which is worth it.
Every time after finish its like it just come out the show room.

My Ride: 08 550 Carbon Sport Almost everything factory, but no sound upgrades.
Does anyone have experience and/or an opinion about car washing with a steam machine?
In our area we cannot wash our own cars and the hand car wash I have used now uses steam.
How about that?

I take mine to the Sunoco touchless carwash and it adds something at the end to prevent watermarks. The dryer does a good job as well. It comes out sparking clean with no watermarks
It's an ecoWash and I buy the ecoBrilliant version. No swirlmarks. Not sure how the pressure affects the paint. I washed my previous vehicle (2003 530i) all the time (for 2 years) and I had no problems with it.

My Ride: 2010 M5 alpine white, black full leather, etc.
My vehicle experienced salt for the first time over the New Year's holiday going out to Southhampton. I felt I couldn't clean it well enough myself and it stayed in the garage salt encrusted and uncovered. The following Sunday I drove my son to LaGuardia airport to go back to college. On my way back to Manhattan I spotted Beverly Hills hand wash on Astoria Blvd. in Queens. For $20 one guy completely did the vehicle by hand inside and out. He did a terrific job.

I'll go to the touchless carwash in a pinch, especially in the winter to get the road salt off. Otherwise I do my own washes.
