I live in a condo building and have garage parking. I usually mess with my car on the top (uncovered) level because there is more light and nobody parks up there. However, it is not a good place to wash the car because it is uncovered and in direct sunlight. I'm toying with the idea of getting a car canopy or tent to use when washing the car.

Does anybody have any experience with these? I would need one that only takes a few minutes to set up and take down as I don't want to spend an hour setting it up every time I wash my car. Any suggestions?

Also, how big do you guys think I need to have room to maneuver around the car?

You're probably looking at a 12x16 pop-up canopy ... or using a smaller one and moving it around as you work from one of your car to another. I've seen the smaller ones in the wholesale clubs (BJ's etc) too.

Yeah, I will definitely weigh down the poles with the wash buckets or something.

I saw one of these tents fall on a Ferrari at a car show when the wind suddenly whipped up. Dragged one of the poles right across the hood. Not pretty. GL.

My Ride: I have an 05 545i. It's a manual with a few options. This is my first BMW but I don't know how I'll ever be able to switch to something else.

Just secure it with some lag bolts into the concrete...I'm sure no one will mind
