Good afternoon

The B Pillars on my M Sport have lost the deep black look. It seems as if there is some water residue on the pillars, but whatever I use to clean them does not work. Has anyone else had this problem and is there a product i can buy in the UK that will restore them?

I found the Meg's Cleaner Wax does the trick ......you have to make sure these pillars are dried everytime you wash the car to avoid this..................

The trouble is it looks like water staining, but I have tried various products to remove it to no avail. Even a good quality wax makes no difference.

I know what you mean , I get the same effect on my X5 , a cleaner wax has mild abrasives which will remove it , if they are really stubborn try a light cut polish or swirl remover..........After you get the stains out, put a couple of coats of good wax on them.........Good Luck

Menzerna PO85rd on a white pad should do the trick, even on a random orbital it would do some good.
Be sure to wipe with IPA, then seal/wax it afterwards.

Are the pillars painted black or are they black plastic?

Thanks for the replies. It seems as if the pillars are painted black but on a closer inspection it looks if they are actually anodised with a clear coat on them.

I have not managed to get to a store to get a paint cleaner, but I have tried removing the stains with a fairly decent wax and it has made it look a little better. I will try again at the weekend.
