i have a quick question. what do you use to clean the roof of a Z4 convertible? i got a friend who wants a car wash, but i'm afraid to put my soap to her roof and take off any sealant or special coating it may have.
What would I do? I would wash it normally, just like any other panel. Then, when that's finished, I would follow up with several coats of Raggtop Fabric Protectant. Follow the instructions on the bottle for application.

I wanted to add that I really appreciate all the interest in Autopian-style detailing and I would like to offer 10% for all Toronto Subaru Club members. It?s my way of saying thanks.

What kind of product should I use for getting rid of water spots/acid rain etching? I have a PC RO polisher, and Lake Country CCS pads that I picked up from Chemical Guys (orange, green, black, and white).
I know I need an abrasive, but I'm not sure which one to use.

I have swirl marks on my hood and some light scratches on the side. I have used Menzerna IP with orange pad on Porta Cable 7724. It seems to come out better, but does not really get rid of the swirl marks. If I used a circular polisher, would that help get better results?

The least aggressive method for this application would be to add vinegar to your wash solution.
