I just finished the first major detail that I have done on my Alpine White 550. I researched as much as I could here as well as the net and decided to try the Meguiars system. I clayed it to start, then did the paint cleaner, followed by the polish then the synthetic wax. The finished look was very bright but lacked depth so I added a coat of BMW Carnuba wax.... Wow !! This really made the difference . I hand applied all steps including polishing....Lots of work but a very satisfying result ( I'm pretty fussy about my car ) . I would appreciate hearing from others who have A/W and their experiences with detailing. I know white is a hard color to get the big wax impact but I think this worked quite well. A tip to pass on re A/W , be very careful to get the coverage complete.Versus dark colors it is very difficult to see the different products on a whte car so you really have to be careful to overlap.

Hey westcoast, any pics?
i was wondering about the carnuba, you say it made a huge difference huh? I clayed mine and used nxt wax. I liked the result but I am eager to try out the carnuba next time... Thanks for the update.

No pix??? You gotta post pix on this forum after a major detail. It's pretty much a must.

and added considerable depth .From what I'm told it definitely will not last as long as the NXT but I think it will be easier to maintain now. I also got a California Jelly Blade . They work great for clearing the majority of the water off the car after rinsing .
