$65k is a lot for an automobile, too.

This was my argument as well. If I could find the d@mn thing here, I would get it.
Thought about shipping it over here...but there's nobody around with sufficient
install experience.
Touch-painting the chips as they come.

Thanks for the replies. I actually was asking two distinct questions - I know the 3M film isn't to hide or prevent swirls. I drive 90+ % of the time on highways going 70-80mph at close proximity to other cars. I'll welcome any protection it can afford. Thanks for relaying the price information - I can use that when I go to order my car this weekend.

[/quote]I can say the Clear bra is worth it. I have it on both cars MINI and 545 and definetly worth it. It will not save you from a flying rock but those smaller pebbles that you hear hitting your windshield and car front that leaves white spots all over your hood. The clear bra stops all that. Its worth it. 2 years 14K miles on my MINI and from driving on the 710 freeway. Which is the freeway trucks use to go back and forth from the Long beach harbor so there are TONS of rocks there and after 2 years theres only 2 small chips on my MINI.

What did you spend on your clear bra? Anybody?
I was quoted $1400 parts and labor to have the 3m product installed on my 545i. Is this too much to pay?
Has anybody had their clear bra for more than 5 years? What kind of condition is it in?

$475 for MINI 3M film thicker. Includes, Hood, Bumper, Side mirrors, door edges, lights and fog.
Had it on for 2 years and its still fine. From the way it looks it'll get to 5 years w/out problem.
$460 for 545. Avery film thinner. Includes, Hood, Bumper, Side mirrors, lights, no fog.
