On another related note, our most popular loaner is, BY FAR, the white 335d with the BMW Advanced Diesel graphics.

That's the right way to go about it. I always got a BMW from my local dealer too. My Porsche on the other hand dealer only gives out rentals - kind of tough to drive up in my 997 and drive home in a (usually fairly mediocre) rental. It always strikes me as a missed opportunity. If I were a car dealer, I'd only want my customers driving the cars I sell - and I wonder how many sales opportunities are missed. What better way to let customers try other models such as a Cayenne, Cayman or Boxster? The loaner policy is definitely one thing my BMW dealer did better than my Porsche dealer.
If Porsche is looking to save money on their loaner fleet, I don't think too many people would complain if they gave out Minis. They're not really competition and people really like to drive them.

I think it's more my specific dealer. Some other dealers do indeed give out Porsche loaners, mine unfortunately sticks us all in rentals. I'd love a Mini loaner!

In that last pic it looks like some bad guy hung a state highway sign in your garage...
It's actually a county sign, I believe.

No bad guy involved... my buddies got me that sign YEARS ago, so I had to post it as they risked all sorts of legal issues to get it for me! It is a Los Angeles County Line sign, and it is huge, (and has quite a few bullet holes too!)

I usually get Enterprise rentals, but then again I don't remember ever getting anything when I used to drive Fords and GMs. Look at it this way, the POS loaners make us appreciate our cars more. Personally, if I owned a profitable dealership, I would offer the next step up BMW so that it would plant the seed of wanting to own one at trade-in time.
