Nope -- I've gone to the highest level of management. BMWFS would rather take a further loss on its own than offer the car to me at a better price.

There's always room for a negotiation!

As we write the NY stock exchange is coming down, again and still!

Did write here over a year ago not to buy a house just now...

Are they going to make your vehicle CPO?
If yes, then I would take it in a heart beat.
Even if your buy out price is higher than similarily equipped car,
you put every mile on your car vs don't know the history of other cars.

I would say go for it unless you are plan to lease another vehicle.

Someone need to take the bite and they have more juice.
They'll count on your "owner feeling".

Not taking part in the discussion of who's making a good deal,
from over here it's impossible.

Best of luck!

Since '95 only cash.

No on the CPO. That would involve having the dealer buy the car and reselling it to me for about $2,000 more, and I am willing to assume the risk at that price premium.

It really comes down to taking the deal or getting something else. I've looked at BMW's current offerings and lease programs, as well as other car makers. It just comes down to what is best for me -- lifestyle-wise and economically. BMW is not like a car dealer that you can squeeze -- they make up their minds and you're nothing more than an ant in the grand scheme of things.

Rather than sacrifice their pricing strategy, they are cutting back production of new cars. The dealers will hurt, as will the autoworkers, but BMW will not compromise its brand image. They know that things will come back in time.

oh wait!!
I was out of my mind for a few min.
It's 2007 model which you will have 2 more years of warranty!!!
Plus, since you are the original owner, you can buy extended warranty from bmw not
though fishy smelling 3rd party!

I would definitely go for it. No second thoughts!!

Thank you for the vote of confidence. Yes, there are two years left on the original warranty as well as full maintenance. It's never been in accident (although I foolishly backed into somebody's license plate screws recently!).

Yes, it's cherry and if I buy it, I'll eventually dump the runflats. I just wish that the navigation and iDrive system were upgradable. The nav system in particular is really crummy.

sounds like your answering your own ?'s then.. seems here the logical thing to do would be buy it.. you got the warranty.. you have the manual which is something you cant find elsewhere and really like.. AND you designed the car to your liking.. theres your answer! keep it..

This is what I'm considering: My 2007 530i is 2 years old and the lease is up. Mileage is just under 20k. The original retail price of the car was around $58k and is very well equipped. It's a rare manual transmission car. There are no CPO MT cars available in my region.

BMWFS is willing to take a $9,500 write-down from the residual, bring the buyout to somewhere just below $34k and 2.9% financing.

The car was built to my specs and I'm happy with it, although one of the deciding factors is the continuing depreciation on the car and the sales tax that'd have to be paid.

Still, getting a slightly used 5 series for around $34k doesn't sound so bad when you consider what they cost new.

If I take the deal, I'd be committing to owning it for at least another 2 to 3 years. If I don't take the deal, there's nothing out there that is really compelling except perhaps a 535i or a 335i.

Any thoughts here?
The 335/535 will a lot more fun, I would upgrade. Life is to short.
