Hey guy's,

I was going to purchase the wheel and tire plan now that I have the 18's style 124 sport wheels. They wanted $795 for a 5 year plan. I got them down to $600 for the 5 year plan for wheel and tire protection. What do you guy's think? I have to call her and purchase it as soon as possible.
Yes. Replaced 2 tires in the last 6 months...bad luck I guess. Taken care of by BMW no problems...although both times the tires were not in stock.

Thousands of the 172s will be replaced by insurance companies or owners as a result of BMW putting them on as standard equipment on the 550s.It takes time to get used to a low profile wheel/rim set up especially with poor road conditions and curbs.Thats why BMW put the disclaimer on the web site.

Cheers

So I'm picking up my son today at school & I notice a huge nail in the Rt rear tire!.......Damn!!.....these are run-flats....they are expensive damn!.....oh but wait, I remember my sales guy saying to me ".......forget the other crap the finance guy will try to sell you, but you MUST GET THE WHEEL/TIRE INSURANCE, it's $600 bucks but you will thank me one day if you buy it....." So I called up my SA (Dino @ Vista ) & told him about the nail......"please tell me you got the wheel insurance" he said, I told him Terrence, the salesman, insisted I get it. "Ok great, you want to bring it in today.." I said yep, & off we went to the 'bimmer store' as my son calls it. We were there in 20 min. & it took them an hour to have a NEW TIRE! installed, mind you, this it 2:15 in the afternoon, usually at that time of day all you can do is drop off you car & maybe get a crappy rental. I am just geting back now because we had to 'pretend drive' all the cars in the BMW and MINI showroom.

So, if you are buying/leasing a new BMW & wondering if it's worth it to get wheel protection, I just checked the exact tire on TireRack.com, $331.53 shipped, this excludes mounting & balancing, need I say more? Terrence is on vacation, I'll remember to thank him.

P.S. We just passed 4k mls on the car.

I bought a similar plan from my dealership when I bought my 550i a year ago. I recall it was around $600 for three years of coverage for both wheels and tires. I have had 2 nail punctures in the rear wheels. Both were replaced free of charge. Those tires are >$300 each, so I of course think the plan is well worth it.
Same thing happened to me. First time it took them 3 full days to get a new tire. Get the insurance, I have it and I pay the dealer then the insurance company send s me a check for the amount I paid.

Congrats MP! We picked up our 535i last Saturday and I've got about 650 miles on it. I take it on the autobahn every chance I get and just cruise at 100 mph...only pushing about 2,900 RPM! Working hard to knock out the remaining 600 so I can really start pushing it. I don't like getting passed while cruising at 100 but I just keep telling myself to sit back and relax...my day will come.

Will get some picks up soon!

I just finalized my deal at Rick Hendrick BMW in Charleston SC today and bought a 5 year tire and wheel program for $549. The max is 500/tire for a tire max of $2000 over 5 years and $1000/rim, max of $4000 over the 5 years, no deductible. It also covers rim repair up to $50/event. A single tire and rim replacement will cost over $1000, so I considered it pretty likely that it will be used at least once over the next 5 years. I plan on keeping the car long-term and also bought an extended warranty and maintenance plan.
