Just go to https://oc.bmwusa.com/oemainlogin.asp and register. You will see that you only need the prodution number to track your car. I have used this tracking two ordered 5's.

I think he's talking about something different. I also heard that you can actually track the car as it crosses the pond (on the ship). I think there's a different web site that requires the VIN (not the production no.). But... I don't know the site. Hopefully someone will chime in with that info. My car is due for production in two weeks and I'd also like ADDITIONAL ways to track it. Thanks

You'll find tracking instructions here: http://members.roadfly.org/e65faq/#TT18

Look for the section titled "Tips regarding tracking and delivery of your car"

i think this site is used when your car is being shipped (en route). it is for cargo. but if your car hasnt been shipped yet..just use BMW USA owner circle (order tracking).

hope this help.

That site works with the vin. I tried it and it told me the exact arrival times and ports of call. That's great! Thanks!

What links do you click from the main page?

"Track By Cargo, Auto"?

Then enter the VIN in the "Cargo ID"?

Thanks

Sorry didn't finish

Track by auto

Then enter the VIN in the "Cargo ID"?

Then there will be the voyage itinerary, which will tell you all the stops

Click on the link and there you have it.
