My Ride: 2005 545i Titanium Silver/Black/Poplar: Steptronic, Sport, Cold Weather, Premium Sound, Comfort Seats, Sat Radio, NAV & Shades
My 545i is on the ship Resolve due into NY on the 13th. I live in Rhode Island. My dealer told me today that it usually takes 10 days to get the car after the boat docks. I thought they were generally at the VPC for 2-3 days then a truck would take it right here, which takes about 5 hours from NY. Do they get stcuk at the VPC for longer??

Yes, please tell us. My 6er is on same ship, due Charleston on 17th. Dealer says I should have my car by end of month, including my Aux input mod and Cell Phone adapter. Sounds to me like the same ~10 days

Sounds like the dealer is building in a little wiggle room on the timing. Really depends on a number of factors, but barring some major delay for weather etc, should be quicker than 10 days. It took seven days for my car. Ship docked in Charleston Feb 14th and car was at the dealer on Feb 21st

Spoke to my dealer on Friday with my ride arriving in NY on Saturday afternoon. They have the car onsite today and I should be able to pick it up tommorow, my dealer is about 4-5 hours from the NY VPC. All in all, about 72 hours from leaving the ship to the dealer, including Super Bowl Sunday in the middle. He did say he had my car on "priority" whatever that means. Hope this helps.

I need to revise my last post, the dealer just called, after saying he'd have the car by yesterday (Friday Statement), it looks like the car won't be at the dealer until next Monday or Tuesday, with an outside shot at Friday. That fits the 10 day schedule you all have expected.
It's frustrating to have gotten geared up to pick up the car in the next 24 hours, then find out your wait is another week or so.

Yeah, at least I have been able to pass the time until now with tracking the car through BMW NA and the ship on the web, now it's just waiting.

I hope that my car is on the same vessel. I have not been able to confirm that information though. I checked owners circle, talked to BMW NA and talked to my dealer. Nobody has any further information on it. Last status they show is that I picked it up in Munich. I hope this is all just a delay in paperwork and information flow. Not a delay in actually shipping my car.
