US 2004 5 Series Price List (including Options)

Hi Guys
After reading the price list I am a little taken away
as are some of you. The more and more I look at the prices I see they are almost identical to MB's. I guess BMW really feels their cars are no less superior and have priced their cars accordingly. Even with this new sticker shock I am hard pressed to find something comparable. I need a manual gearbox and rear or AWD. I have considered the Audi A6 but not sure I will like the driving dynamics too much. I love the MB E Class but no manual tranny not to mention the same cost of the new 5. I guess I will have to save a few more pennies for the price of admission even though I was waiting for the 535 with the 
price increase for the new motor.

Yes...this price is getting a bit high at a fast rate during times that joblessness is high, and wage increases are minimal. I guess we have to pay for the "ultimate".
I am thinking if I am going to fork over $60K for a car, I may want to get a used 2003 7 series. That seems more worthwhile. The new Audi A6 is due in 2005. It may be worth the wait to see what they do with their lack of pep. By then also, there may be a new Lexus GS series to consider. Ah, decisions, decisions. Do you guys think the 6-series is about the same price? I have seen about $47K at one site so take it with a grain of salt.

HOLY! WAIT A MINUTE! I did not know about this... the dealer failed to mention this to me!! This totally will probably change my order... from SMG to Auto... is this true?? $1300 Gas Guzzler tax with SMG?

and pull up the 2005 list. There should be no gas guzzler for SMG. That's a pretty old thread you dug up! That guy litster was the second member of the forum.

Oh and I pulled up the 2004 guide also and it says N/A too for SMG GGT...

EBMCSO3 - I don't think any of the 545s have gag guzzler tax. Why don't you PM to JDN or bmwin14srm they have a 545 with SMG and ask them if they paid the GGT. Hell your salesman should know if he's worth anything.
