I am seriously considering trading in my 04 530i for an ED 05 545i.

I know, i know i'll be taking a hit but it's not that big of a hit. I just wanna run with the big dogs.

The independent financing is all set. I would appreciate any advice that you fellow brother and sister E60 5er's would give.

Thanks in advance!

if you are saying some kind of excuse like, "i know i'll be taking a hit but it's not that big of a hit." i think you've already made up your mind . just don't tell your wife/gf how big/small of a hit you'll be taking . they just don't care . if they know you are willing to spend that much more on something is barely new, your wallet will shrink dramatically .

Do it. The rush you'll get every time you punch the go pedal will more than make up for whatever hit you take. The 545 is just an awesome car.

It would depend on my age. If I was a young blade, I'd pass and look for brighter things down the road. If I was old and rusty, what the hay, go for it.

How about going from a 525i to a 530. It is worthy?

I think that she may notice the ED trip to get it though.

I drove both before picking the 530.
To me, it's worth it. More punch and 40 to 80mph is a blast, especially with the steptronic in manual mode.
