Track with VIN/Prod Number

Hi - I know i am a newbie to this group. Just ordered a new '06 530i. I got my VIN and Production Number. when I use owners circle, it says its En Route. But my dealer says it should have already reached and gone to prep center. Is there any other way to check the status with these two keys.

Hello!

The Owner's Circle site is up to 5 days behind. Once the vehicle has shipped from Germany, your dealer has the most up-to-date and accurate information, beyond Owner's Circle or even BMWNA Customer Relations. *Before* the vehicle has shipped, your dealer has access to the same information, but the automated voice system at 800-831-1117 can give information that is more current that owner's circle (usually 1-2 days behind). But your dealer has up-to-the minute information.

Yep, the site is usually several days behind the actual status of the car.

Too bad, there is no real "real-time" way to track....hmmmm...well the car does have a GPS receiver on it!!!! :'(

Thanks, that is helpful. My dealer said my car was in production but owners circle says it is on order.

Until the vehicle ships, a more up-to-date way of tracking without having to harass your dealer is by calling 800-831-1117, saying "Production status", and using their automated voice system to give you the status. That automated system is *almost* up-to-date. You can also harass a BMWNA Customer Relations agent for the status; they have information that should be as up-to-date as it can be (and as up-to-date as the dealer has) UNTIL the car arrives at the port, at which point all information must come from your dealer.
