Yes, so far your baseline durations have proven to be right on.

Thanks,
Leonard.

1.) Maybe they will use the DVD for Video later on wiht software upgrade! or DVD Music!!!! Ok maybe I'm dreaming...

5.) I actually prefer it not to unlock with the ignition... when I stop my car i'm not always prepared to open the door and so I dont want someone from the outside to be able to open my door. I feel safer that way. (* but thats me.*) I think its has to be dealer programmable... in my MINI its dealer programable... if i wanted auto unluck with key ignition off.

7.) ACK~~~ Dont remind me!

8.) You win some... you lose some... I'm sure other cars have their fair share of complaints... Mercedes one of them for sure... and I'm positive even the good ol' Japanese cars have their problems...

Ok, on #5 I figure it had better be dealer programmable.

on #8... "you win some you lose some" ??? Probably a direct quote from the design team when they were laying out the E60. Somehow that seems to distance BMW from their "old" slogan, "The ultimate driving machine."

You are right though, no car is perfect. They only claim to be.

BMW's new slogan: The reasonably effective, limited choice, you win some you lose some driving machine.

I figured out what's wrong. I'm not getting any of the fun of driving the car while I'm waiting. It is too easy to gripe when you don't get the positives. I'm calling my dealer once they open this morning to schedule a weekly "test drive" so that it is easier to remember the good (great) stuff.

No, you're not dreaming.
They are working on it and will bring this feature out somewhen soon. But you will have to pay for it, if you want it to be activated.

Front video is illegal in the US, if your in the states you would have to have it activated somewhere other then your BMW center.

Going back to the original topic, it was discussed in several threads. Here is a link: My ship cometh when?, Expected Arrival. Please search if you want to know more.
Here is my latest order history. Hope it helps....

11/23/04 placed an order, and they modified existing order slot with my options. Got Production #, and checked at NA auto system, it says, "Your vehicle is scheduled for production with no confirmed production date yet", status 112.
11/24/04 Talked with NA rep, "Production seems to be in WK50".
11/27/04 "Your vehicle is in production, the estimated completion date is Dec 7, 2004", status 150.
11/28/04 New VIN pops up at OC web.
12/2/04 "Vehicle is in a body shop, with the estimated completion date Dec 7, 2004", status 151.
12/2/04 "Vehicle is in the paint shop", 152.
12/4/04 "Vehicle is being assembled now", status 153.
12/6/04 "Vehicle production is complete and waiting for the release to the carrier", 155.
12/8/04 "Vehicle was released to the carrier and waiting for transprtation to the port of exit", 160.
12/9/04 "Vehicle is being transported to the port of exit", 180
12/10/04 "Vehicle is at the port waiting for the shipping vessel, there is no shipping info available at this time", 190
12/16/04 "Vehicle is in transit, pls contact your center for additinal tracking information"
The vessel "Capricornus Leader", departing 12/16 and scheduled arrival on 1/10-13
1/15/05 Arrived at Port Hueneme, Oxnard, California and unloaded, 5days delay

Ornament,

My delivery duration is showning about 64 days vs. your 63 days. My durations were taken from EBMCS03 which is very close to yours. The only variance is in the vessel travel duration. Depending on the vessel, it can take anywhere from 25 to 32 days. I used 32 since it would be the worst case. Take a look at the updated schedules below. Based on my schedule, you should get your car by next Thursday 1/27/05. Let me know if this is the case so that I can get confidence in my schedule.

Thanks,
Leonard.
