I've heard that Texas BMW's are delivered by east coast carrier through Charleston, SC. Can anyone confirm this? I'd love to track it.

I'm also new to this forum and would just like to give a salutation and word of thanks - a lot of the information circulated has been helpful. Tthis is also my first BMW ever and am glad to see such a coherent group of enthusiasts.

On a final note - I've been painstakingly waiting since May 2005 for this - the dealer wanted to sell me a 545i @ MSRP when I happened to come across this board while the 550i was was on the verge of production. Why pay full price for 545i when I could pay full price for 550i, I thought.....

Anyway, completed production Oct. 7th, today. Alpine white fully loaded - including ventilation.

When you say *ventilation* do you mean ventilated seats, the priority 1 option? This is what I plan to order (for May 8th delivery), and I'd be delighted to hear your details. Did you also get the Nasca leather? What transmission did you order?

Congrats on your new car!

Welcome aboard, and its and excellent choice made. Wow, your first BMW is a 550? You are going to be spoiled for life.

I understand that BMWs headed to central states do enter via South Carolina. Have fun tracking it!

Deliveries to Dallas come through Charleston. I think Houston may have another alternative, but don't know for sure.

Welcome to the forum. Sounds like a very nice car. My E39 that I had for eight years was Alpine White. My son, currently has the E39, called me last night from Denver to tell he how it is gleaming after he washed it down (Rejexed).

This BMW will head to Austin, TX - I would imagine through SC just wanted to confirm if anyone knew. Here's the order:

2006 BMW 550i - Alpine White, Automatic
Anthracite Maple Wood
Comfort & Ventilated Seats/Black Nasca Leather - it was easy to add Priority 1 option kfarouki, but I had to maneuver the dealer to this forum so that he could believe me at first, and in addition, he just couldn't order the cold weather package for me, despite I've heard to the contrary.
Active Steering
Comfort Access
Head Up Display
Navigation
Sirius
Active Cruise Control
Rear Sun Shades
Sports Package
Premium Sound
iPod Aux. Jack - if anyone can comment on this dealer installed option - I'd love to hear the cons to getting this.

And as far as Alpine White JDN - I'm of the opinion that you can't get a better white than on a BMW. It's beautifully sexy.

Do the ventilated seats come with comfort seats? What is priority one?

Louisiana cars come through South Carolina. Don't know about Texas. Your dealer will know.

It is an outstanding choice at night, and a very practical choice for Texas summers.

Welcome and congrats on your new car--nicely optioned.

I have the aux input for my iPod and there are no cons. Just be aware that this is simply an audio connection--you can't control the iPod through iDrive or steering wheel buttons (other than volume, of course).

Here's a thread with pix of my iPod hardwire install as food for thought:
