Akebono are great pads but even at what I normally would mark the parts up at I would not mark it up that much. I think that is more than retail.

I just did my own brakes about one month ago. I got the same pads at advance auto parts for $210.

I just read a great DIY on the DIY forums about changing rotors--can it really be that easy? The only hard part was removing the hex retaining bolt. Anyone with a jack, the right tools, and maybe some balls should be able to do it--I have the jack and the tools, now all I need is the balls.

Just use some common sense when working on your own car. I would not say that everyone is qualified to do the work themselves. You are working on something that stops a 4300 lb. car.
