Does the leasing price vary on state to state? Sound like California's leasing price is higher. My friend just leased his 530i for $770 a month with 36month/12K. Down was $2000.00 The car's price was $53000

leasing rates dont vary (the MF and residual is set my BMWFS...though individual dealers can markup the MF), but the taxes, and acquisition fee (ie; the total due at inception) does vary due to state laws.
that 770 though seems about right...blame the high MF on the 525/530 right now

36/10K
MSRP: 62,270
Selling price: 60,400
MF: 0.001
Residual: 62%
Monthly payment: 759 (with tax).
Paid at signing lease contract: 2,360 = 759 (1 month payment) + 800 (sec. deposit) + 600 (bank fee) + ~200 (title, registration, etc.)

My Ride: 2005 545i Jet Black/Black, Sport Package, Satellite
Re: So Cal, I picked up my 2005 545i in March fron Crevier (with Sport Package and satellite prep options only--heck, car comes fairly loaded as is and includes Premium Package that you have to pay extra for on the 530 and 525). Got a 3 year/36K mile lease out the door with $2,500 and $ 735 month (including sales and usage tax)....your buddy is paying $ 770/mo for a 530?...yikes.
