I've lived in CA for 15 years and haven't had a front plate on any car. Have received 2 fix it tickets ($10 fine if you fix the infraction). Got one a few months ago--used double sided tape to attach plate/bracket, had cop sign ticket, and removed plate when I got home.

So when u got the ticket a few months ago, you just put the double tape and attach the plate infront of the cop or what?So do you still need to pay 10 bucks?Sorry dont get it

I attached the plate/bracket in my garage & drove to the police station to have a cop sign the ticket. Still had to pay $10.

What I did is attach the plate to the mounting bracket with screws, as normal, and then attached the bracket to the bumper using double sided tape. It looked permanently attached.

[quote name='amigo525' date='Oct 6 2005, 05:11 PM']Okay..i could not ask the question on the subject. Let me try now.

When you order a car and the car arrives at the dealer, will the dealer let others to test drive your car?

Assuming that a potentional customer walks in and he/she wants the same car as the one (i, your..etc) ordered...will the sale person let the potential customer test drives your car?? or seat inside your car and play with the controllers etc??

That thinking always bother my imagination.

TIA

My car is awaiting for transport !?

I'd suggest telling your dealer you don't want anybody (other than the tech for PDI) near your car--I imagine they would honor your request. And if you don't want holes in your bumper for the front license plate, let them know as well.

In New York it is very risky not to have front plate. I am not even dreaming in doing that. I wish i could to do it

they always want to give u a damn ticket in NY! $50 each time too. For the most part u can get away with as long as u park in areas where the cop doesn't really get to see the front of the car!

P.S.(if u live in NY, you would know that means only ur garage or whomever you're visiting, unless just gets the plates unless you'll pay $50 weekly)
