So, anyway, I was supposed to get my new car Friday (that's tomorrow), but it looks like it won't be at the dealership and ready to go until late Monday... AND I CAN'T BE THERE TO PICK IT UP so I have to wait until Tuesday morning.

I'm going insane. I think I've read every single post in every single e60 forum on the planet. I've even tried to read the ones in German. I've downloaded and read the 545 manual twice. I don't think I can make it until Tuesday.

I know I sound really sad but it's like I'm ten years old, it's Christmas Eve and they announce on the news that they've decided to postpone Christmas a few days.

Any suggestions how to pass the time? Anything I can do? Anything I can go learn about that will take three or four days? ARGH!

Peace.

Get your garage ready (nice and clean). Go buy a few car-care products. Rent a movie featuring BMW (Ronin, The Italian Job (well, Mini is ok!). Tank Girl is also a good choice but will take you the opposite direction! Take a long flight somewhere with Microsoft Flight Simulator or similar. Read a book written by a race car driver. Go out to eat a nice restaurant. Choose the CDs you want in the changer if you got Premium Sound. Rent another movie. Etc. HTH.

isbell,

Hang in there, you'll make it! Believe me, I feel your pain. Reading this forum helps as does looking through the manual and rebuilding your car online about 8000 times.

Ajax545; Have you signed up for Owners Circle on http://www.bmwusa.com ? if your dealer has given you either the VIN or production number you can do a "rough" status tracking of the car.

Car recieved at the Oxnard area BMW facility normally appear at the dealer within a few days assuming no active rework campaigns are in process for the car.

And here I thought only I did that. I'm not sure if this will reassure my wife or not. Probably not....

I picked up one that was already on its way without a specific owner so my wait hasn't been that long, but apparently my car was built 6/14 (my anniversary--something I used to convince my wife that it was meant to be). So if all goes well it will be almost exactly a month from build date to being my date.

Peace.

I just got the call from BMW. It'll be ready a day early: Monday morning. Woo-hoo. Now I'll just sleep through the weekend!

Peace.

Hey isbell,

since you must feel like it's Christmas...
And those Christmas gifts under the tree are packed up...
I let you take a look on the gift allready, but don't unpack it now.
