On a trip in for service/repair I first checked my dealer's website for service specials. Since I was having a wheel-tire problem fixed that wasn't "free" I qualified for a coupon for a set of free wiper blades.

My e60 is already covered for any replacements so the parts manager gave me a set for my Z3. I thought that was a nice gesture but then this dealership has given me exceptional service and customer care for almost 20 years.

Point is, check for extra parts and service discounts at your particular dealership - I don't think this was a BMW-sponsored promotion.

The OEM(LCI anyway) blades are Bosch areotwins you may be able to source them alot cheaper than your dealer. They are IMO by far the best blades out there at the moment and run rings around PIAA super silicon blades which i had on my last car. They are OEM on BMW, Audi and VW that I know of, beware there are lots of fake Aerotwin style blades about so make sure you get bosch ones if you buy any.

You can get Exact fit wiper blades that fit your vehicle for about $17 each from Checker Auto, or at their online store, www.partsamerica.com (http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductL...pe=326&PTSet=A). Why spend spend double that? I usually get a year's worth out of my exact fit wiper blades.

The blades they're selling at that price are for the Trico Neoform. They look similar to the Bosch ones but you have to wonder about their quality and/or durability at that low price. Obviously, they may be worth trying out -- let us know how they work out for you...

Actually, it is the Trico Exact Fit that is selling for $16.99 each for the driver side as well as the passenger side (at least for my car - 04 525i). I'm not impressed at all with Bosch wiper blades. I had the dealer installed new ones in early July and they're already streaking now, its only been less than 2 months! Even in my wife's car, I previously tried the Bosch blades and they didn't last any longer than the cheaper ones that I could get for her car. The Exact fit ones, I can usually get a year out of them. I usually replace them after the harsh winter season here in MN.

these new aeoblades look great, and in theory should be better, but they do nothing but streak and squeel on my e60. They are silent on the E90.

Are you sure you don't have a buildup of something on your windshield?

Thats strange the blades on my car have been on since new(apr 07) and work perfectly. Same as the ones fitted to our Audi and my old Volvo they both did over two years with bosch aerotwins and had no problems at all in that time(the cars both sold with them still on). I wonder if its the type of screen cleaner affecting the blades.

The Exact Fit ones sell for $10.88 using my zip code and the Neoforms sell for $18.98 (which is why I assumed you purchased the Neoforms for $17).

I like the look of the newer, aero blades and feel it's worth the extra few bucks to stay with them rather than going back to the older-style Exact Fit type.

I clayed it when I first purchased it and have windexed it every week since then so I can't imagine there is any kind of buildup on there. And I think its crap you can get those blades for $10 and the same ones cost me $17, just based on zip codes...!!!
